Stunning audiences with her sterling lyric voice and incisive stage personality, soprano Heidi Stober has established herself as a house favorite at leading companies on both sides of the Atlantic. Since her critically acclaimed debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the autumn of 2008, Heidi has cultivated a long-standing relationship with the company, with recent roles including Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Micaëla in Carmen, Marguerite in Faust and Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel.
Heidi made her Metropolitan Opera debut in the 2011-12 season as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, returning to the company in recent years as Despina in Cosi fan Tutte; Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel; Pamina in Die Zauberflöte; Oscar in Un ballo in maschera and Una voca dal cielo in Don Carlos. |
She appears regularly at San Francisco Opera where roles include Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Norina in Don Pasquale, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Magnolia in Showboat, Oscar in Un ballo in maschera, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Nannetta in Falstaff, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro. For Houston Grand Opera, her roles include Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Musetta in La bohème, Atalanta in Xerxes, Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Norina in Don Pasquale and most recently Micaëla in Carmen, and for Lyric Opera of Chicago, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Dalinda in Ariodante and Valencienne in The Merry Widow.

Concert highlights include Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Boston Baroque Orchestra conducted by Martin Pearlman as part of the orchestra’s 50th anniversary celebrations, and performances of Mozart’s Requiem at the Lyric Opera of Chicago conducted by Enrique Mazzola.
