Dr. Cheryl Cellon Lindquist is an American pianist, collaborator, coach, and conductor.
Renowned as a collaborative artist and soloist, Dr. Lindquist has performed with an
array of singers, instrumentalists, choirs, chamber ensembles and orchestras
throughout the United States and Europe. Currently residing in Dallas, she is
Artistic/Executive Director of the Art Song Center for Poets and Musicians
(artsongisalive.org). Her private coaching studio comprises opera singers with
professional companies and apprentice programs, university faculty and students,
chamber musicians, and amateurs.
An avid recitalist known for her sensitive artistry and
versatility, Dr. Lindquist has been lauded as an “excellent collaborator” and an
“outstanding soloist with intricate passagework.” A champion of new music, she has
collaborated with composers such as Jake Heggie, John Harbison, Tobias Picker and
Michael Ching. Passionate about connecting people through music across genres and
styles, she performs opera, art song, musical theater, sacred and pop repertoire with
artists including Eric Owens, René Barbera, Megan Marino, Andrew Garland, Tracy
Thomas, Ann Moss, Larry Gatlin, George Strait and Tituss Burgess.
Dr. Lindquist has served on the staffs of Fort Worth Opera, Opera San Antonio, Austin Lyric Opera, American Institute of Musical Studies, Songfest, Académie Internationale d’Été de Nice, Opera Steamboat, and Taos Opera Institute. Previous academic appointments include
Texas State University, Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at San Antonio, University of the Incarnate Word, University of Texas Pan-American, University of North Carolina-Pembroke, and University of Florida.
Her debut solo piano recording project is slated for release this Winter.
